Tooling 2000 in Birmingham is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a six-figure investment in new machines.

Tooling 2000 is an expert in prototype and production parts manufacturing, including mold making, 3-axis and 5-axis machining, stamping and 5-axis laser cutting.

The company has invested more than £1 million to purchase new machines, including 5-axis milling, large-capacity 4.2mx 2.6m machining and 500mm x 1m CNC lathes. In addition, it has invested in CNC coordinate measuring machines, internal scanning and reverse engineering facilities, and automatic forming molds. Simulation-to ensure that it can provide a complete internal service.

The investment is part of an ambitious growth plan based on the idea of ​​providing a complete metal processing solution, including design and feasibility, CNC machining, prototyping, precision machining, printing and laser cutting.

The company was founded in 1996 and specializes in providing tailor-made solutions for the metal stamping and parts manufacturing industries, from initial concepts and part feasibility to finished parts.

Managing Director Gary Williams said: "Our existing large-scale capabilities and flexibility allow us to build a strong customer base, including Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bentley and blue chip brands such as Jaguar and Land Rover.

"In our 25th year of business, major investments in new machines and factories have further strengthened our capabilities, enabling us to provide complete metal processing solutions in-house, laying the foundation for our plan to double our turnover in the next three years. Base.

"Our investment goes beyond CNC machinery. For example, our new bending machine and spot welding function will be put into use at the end of the fourth quarter of 2021, and we have also invested £750,000 in the purchase of a new Trumpf Trucell 7040 fiber laser. It is 4m x 2m and will arrive in the first quarter of 2022 to match the same size CNC and stamping capabilities."

2021 is a very positive and progressive year for Tooling 2000. The company also celebrated its IATF 16949 certification, demonstrating their commitment to achieving the highest standards.

At the beginning of this year, Tooling 2000 announced the revitalization of its "Apprenticeship Program", recruiting three new engineering apprentices. Since then, the company has recruited several on-the-job engineers to further expand their experienced team of experts, while also promoting Brian Abbott to manufacturing director.

Several Tooling 2000 employees are also celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary, such as CNC Manager Andy Evans and Purchasing Manager Chris Davies.
