CEMEX Ventures has now announced a list of the top 50 high-performance startups in its ConTech (construction technology) ecosystem. They include aspiring organizations from categories such as green building technology, building supply chain, improving building productivity, and future-focused ConTech startups.

CEMEX is a Mexican multinational construction materials company headquartered in San Pedro near Monterrey, and is listed as one of the fifth largest such suppliers in the world. Cement, ready-mixed concrete and aggregates are some of its products, which have been sold to more than 50 countries, including the United States.

CEMEX Ventures is their venture capital arm. Its goal is to invest in promising ConTech startups and support them to thrive through the ecosystem and accelerate their growth beyond what they can achieve. On their website, they describe themselves as "promoting the architectural revolution by engaging with startups, entrepreneurs, universities, and other stakeholders in the industry."

What does ConTech even mean? In short, this is the buzzword of construction technology. Similar to MarTech means marketing technology, FinTech means financial technology. Of course, this means that they must provide more than just software for construction project management and so on.

In addition to disclosing this list of top startups in the construction industry, Gonzalo Galindo, head of CEMEX Ventures, also said: “As we predicted last year, sustainable solutions have witnessed a surge in investment by leading companies and investors.
